Arizona’s Un:ted States instantly captivated me. Their latest track ‘Silent Spring’ is full of 60s folk pop vocals with a modern indie sound – the perfect soundtrack to a long drive through the desert.
The band say:
“‘Silent Spring’, musically, draws inspiration from the era in which Rachel Carson’s book was first published, the 1960’s. Despite it’s name, this song is not necessarily political, and is instead about the journey it’s sound takes us on. We wanted the listener to start in relative stillness surrounded by rich vocal harmonies and move into the unexpected territory of rolling drums and building guitars. It is ultimately about love and it’s changing forms, about our connection to nature, and about letting go of what encumbers us.”
