Within seconds of hitting play on Starter Garden‘s ‘Back In The Groove’ I fell instantly in love. The band hark back to a 90s sound that appeals to me greatly, reminding me of bands on Saddle Creek and some of the Chapel Hill bands around that era.
The band say:
‘Back in The Groove’ is about making a transition to a healthier mindset. As goofy as it may sound, for me, that meant getting medicated for my mental illness, and falling in love with someone who gave me the patience and understanding that I needed in order to get better. With this record, I really wanted to make sure I acknowledged the the better parts of life, and Groove was an attempt at doing that.
