It’s a two for one A Song A Day post today – enjoy!
Inkfields – ‘People of the Sea’
Edinburgh’s Inkfields has an important message to tell on latest track ‘People Of The Sea’.
“‘People Of The Sea’ was written from a conservationist viewpoint, from the artists belief that humanity should have a greater respect for the ocean. Studies have shown that whales in particular, in some areas exhibit greater intelligence than humans. In that respect, people of the sea would refer to whales. The song is the third track on Inkfields new EP, Danger Moose.”
It’s good to hear artists writing about subjects their passionate about and in a crazy selfish time, we should remember nature and the world around us, which are often forgotten.
The Great Dictators – ‘Flipside’
I had originally intended to write about another track by Copenhagen based band The Great Dictators but it wasn’t available on Soundcloud. I had waited a while for it to be uploaded but eventually a new one appeared so I’m writing about the track ‘Flipside’ instead.
The Great Dictators are somewhat expert when it comes to creating thoughtful indie rock and ‘Flipside’ opens out into a chorus that’s tinged with dreamy melancholy.
