A Song A Day: Signal – ‘Still Right Here’

Signal Still Right Here

Regular readers of the blog will know I’ve a penchant for an 80s sound and Signal are right up my street.

On ‘Still Right Here’ the slow, steady vocals at the start give way into layers of throwback 80s ambience and melodies that Signal have given their own modern slant. Bands like Tears of Fears and Ultravox come to mind and even Zoot Woman who did similar things in the early 00s.

The band say: “NYC was the main inspiration for this track. I don’t want to give away the meaning as I’m sure you can interpret it multiple ways. But be sure to expect many more slow grooving, new wave/80’s inspired ballads.”
